"It is my belief that vipassana meditation and the dharma are ideal for transforming suffering, particularly the trauma of oppression and its many vicissitudes-where the chains around our minds and hearts can be broken through and dissolved. Awareness and wisdom become the vehicle for freedom and transforming lives."

DaRa Williams
The Buddha taught that all humans are alike in their desire for happiness and love. This is so whether or not we use unskillful or skillful means in our attempt to find balance, peace and happiness. The confidence, strength, and personal authority to right ourselves when we encounter suffering and pain come from the cultivated heart and mind, which trains and prepares us to meet the suffering and pain we encounter in relation to ourselves and with other beings. Love asks you to let go. Compassion asks you to let go.

Retreat On-Land

September 14 - September 18, 2024 Saturday - Wednesday | 4 nights

Aging, Dying, & Awakening

Open to all ages. In this retreat, we’ll explore aging and dying from the Buddhist perspective of meditative practice and awakening. Together, we'll examine aging and death in our conventional lives and see what happens as we normalize these processes as part of the great letting go. How might this “letting go” reveal the awakened heart? This retreat will include meditation instructions, Dharma talks, meetings with teachers, and a daily period of contemplative inquiry during which we will investigate our own relationship to death. Otherwise, this retreat is silent outside of the mentioned above periods.
