Loving-kindness allows the mind to make the bridge between the point where the hindrances are still kicking in a bit and a place where it is more exclusively wholesome and settled. Wholesome and bright mental states rely on loving-kindness.

Ajahn Pasanno took ordination in Thailand in 1974 and was a disciple of Ajahn Chah. He is now the Guiding Elder at Abhayagiri Monastery.
