Equanimity is what we need to help us remember that this is not your suffering, and it's not my suffering. It’s just suffering. It's just the nature of the realm we live in, and the realm itself doesn't have anything to do with us. This practice is designed to support us in allowing the thorns to be taken out of our hearts, little bits at a time, so that we can be our true selves.
