Inquiry as a Factor of Awakening in Formal Meditation and Daily Life

Donald Rothberg

The most basic way the Buddha taught inquiry was about looking directly into experience and seeing what’s there. We see the patterns of experience, and the nature of the different experiences we have: the nature of anger, or sadness, or happiness, or joy. Inquiry can take us into our unconscious, to what is actually driving us that we’re not aware of. It’s how we practice seeing clearly.
