This practice is moment to moment. It’s not “one day I’ll get enlightened, one day I’ll stop worrying.” It’s this moment right here. We have a moment where the mind feels still. So sweet, right? And we start trusting our own capacity to still the mind, which is a remarkable gift of this practice, because in that place of stillness, we can rest. That’s home base. Otherwise, we’re running away from the voices that tell us what’s wrong with us, or we’re running towards something, hoping that when we get there, it’ll be better. When we’re in a place of stillness, we stop running. Here, in this moment. This breath in, this breath out, this opening of the heart, this closing of the heart.
