It’s often hard to be kind to ourselves, especially when it feels like the body has failed or betrayed us. So how are we working with pain and compassion? So many of us have this idea that our own pain is not worthy of compassion while others’ pain is okay. But pain is not personal. It comes with a personal story, and we have a history that we’re very attached to. But you are not your pain—it’s just part of your experience in this moment. And your pain deserves compassion, period.
