Yoga and Dharma: Calming Anxiety Through the Wisdom of the Body

In our current global situation and personal life challenges, anxiety is a natural reaction. However, our bodies are not designed for chronic stress, and over time it can derail our well-being and disconnect us from our hearts.

This daylong program will weave Dharma wisdom and meditation together with mindful movement and gentle breathing techniques. These embodied practices will help to release chronic tension, regulate our nervous systems, and calm reactivity. This process of resourcing will reconnect us with the wisdom of the body and restore trust in our body’s ability to self-regulate. Our meditations will center heart practices, or brahmavihāras, to cultivate a kinder, more spacious relationship with ourselves. We may come to know anxiety as a teacher—one that deepens mindful awareness and generates a tender connection to our inner states.

All abilities and levels of experience are welcome.

Transforming the Judgmental Mind

6 CE Credits. Judgments of a reactive and compulsive nature can have a strong impact on our lives. They can distort our perceptions, make relationships difficult, and undermine our work. Together we will examine what judgments are and how to work with them, using mindfulness, “heart” practices, and inquiry. These explorations will help us to preserve the discernment often found in judgments, while working through their destructive aspects. Attendees will have the option of regular follow-up sessions to continue and deepen the learning.
