Monday Night Dharma Talk & Meditation with Jack Kornfield & Friends

Spirit Rock's Monday Night Dharma Talk and Meditation program is open to all and meets every Monday night from 7:15 – 9:15pm in the Community Meditation Center. Jack Kornfield began this weekly practice and gathering over 33 years ago to introduce the practices of awareness and compassion that are the heart of Buddhist teachings. The evening mixes periods of meditative sitting with dharma talks and is appropriate for beginning and experienced students alike and is a great way to find a little peace and quiet in which to sustain you into your week. Come join and experience this special tradition.

Fee: $15 - 30 sliding scale.

Join Monday nights through our livestream at: Spirit Rock Live: Monday Nights with Jack Kornfield & Friends.

American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters at Spirit Rock - 2019

In recent years Spirit Rock has received requests from Deaf and hard-of-hearing practitioners to have ASL interpreted programs. In 2019 we’re experimenting with a few of our programs by offering an ASL interpreter. ASL interpretation will be provided for these Monday nights:
January 21, February 18, March 18, April 15, May 20, and June 17
We will reserve seating for our deaf and hard-of-hearing practitioners in view of the ASL interpreter in the Great Hall. We will also include the interpreter in our livestreams on these dates. Please spread the word to your friends who would benefit from an ASL interpreter and are interested in learning more about meditation and the Dharma.

*Ridesharing is required on noted evenings:

Cars with less than 3 people will be asked to pay a $10 non-carpooling fee. Visit our Monday Night ridesharing bulletin board Ridesharing Monday Night to look for or offer a ride. On nights when our founding teacher, Jack Kornfield, speaks the Great Hall typically reaches capacity. Once the Great Hall is full, we invite you to participate by watching a livestream of the event in our upstairs West and East Halls.

Program fees and parking fees are waived for volunteers. Tasks include setting up chairs, greeting, registration, selling cookies, and clean up-- putting away chairs, dust-mopping the floor, taking out the trash/recycling/compost, straightening the hall, etc. To volunteer contact or call (415) 488-0164 ext. 224.
