In-Person: Monday Night Meditation & Dharma Talk

Gullu Singh, JD

Residential Retreat Teacher

Gulwinder “Gullu” Singh is a corporate real estate attorney and dedicated Dharma practitioner. He teaches both secular and Buddhist classes, groups and retreats. He has taught mindfulness at universities, in law firms, bar associations and corporate settings. He is a graduate the 4-year Spirit Rock Teacher Training Program and qualified to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. He is core faculty of the Spirit Rock Dedicated Practitioner Program, core faculty of the Mindfulness in Law Teacher Training and a mentor in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program. Gullu is deeply inspired to share meditation in the legal and corporate community as an antidote to stress, a way to cope more effectively with the challenges of work and life and to inject more sanity, compassion and wisdom into this world.

Equanimity is a culmination of practice where the mind is steady, contented, and undisturbed. It’s the opposite of being agitated or overwhelmed. One traditional simile is being supple like bamboo so we can bend in the wind and not break. It’s ultimately about giving up any struggle with how things are in this moment. When we can rest in equanimity, we find a kind of well-being and happiness which is not so dependent on circumstances because it’s generated from within. It’s not so easy to do, so we have this whole path of practice to support us.

Gullu Singh's Upcoming Programs

Training On-Land Dharma Institute

May 2026 - May 2028 Five residential retreats

Dedicated Practitioner Program

This two-year program is for Insight meditation practitioners who want to deepen their practice and understanding of the Buddhadharma—through immersive, residential retreats, study, and shared practice. As a community, we’ll look closely at the roots of suffering and the Buddha’s path towards freedom, gaining a deep understanding of what it means to be liberated. We will focus on cultivating wisdom, compassion, and ethical mindful action into everyday life, staying close to the Buddha’s original teachings in the Pali Canon and how the teachings can support us in contemporary life. DPP is an opportunity to engage in a systematic investigation of many of the foundational lists from the teachings of the Buddha.

Mindfulness for Everyone: Cultivating Attention, Compassion, and Presence

8 CE Credits. Spaces Still Available! Mindfulness offers us tools to develop our capacity to pay attention, regulate emotions, and cultivate states of lovingkindness, compassion, and even-mindedness. In this retreat we will practice mindfulness through stillness and movement meditation, as well as through lectures and the opportunity to meet with teachers who will guide our practice. While rooted in the Buddhist practice of mindfulness, this retreat will also focus on the practical applications of mindfulness and the range of ways to practice it.

Beneath the Noise: A Journey into the Mind’s Quiet Power - Annual BIPOC Retreat

For those who identify as BIPOC. Spaces Still Available! Designed to support the BIPOC community only. Dharma practice is a journey of unveiled mysteries that can bring profound transformation. During this retreat we are invited to quiet the noise of striving, meet ourselves fully, discover the peace that arises when the mind is steady and enter a space where truth is felt rather than defined. With deepened internal inquiry, we will explore how thoughts shape our reality and learn to work skillfully with the mind rather than against it.
