This Dharma talk and meditation focuses on the possibility of awakening joy in our lives through mindfulness practices that foster deep self-compassion. In acknowledging the first Noble Truth—that suffering is an inescapable part of life—it becomes essential that we learn to hold ourselves and our experience with compassion. “I like to think of self-compassion as really a gift that we offer others,” Dawn explains. “The more we're able to meet ourselves and whatever arises with kindness, then the more we're able to meet others when they're feeling deep sorrow or high joys.”
