We cultivate samadhi because the gathered mind is a powerful mind, and we need to build power. This is a time in our collective experience where those of us who are awake and awakening need to build the kind of power that can affect change and see clearly—the kind of power that comes when we recover our attention from all the distractions that are available to us.
