We offer our retreats on a sliding scale to make the Dharma accessible to all.
By selecting the highest rate you're able to afford, you help support Spirit Rock's ability to offer lower rates and meet the growing number of scholarship requests. Your generosity sustains our nonprofit mission and ensures that these teachings of lovingkindness and wisdom remain available to everyone.

Needs-based assistance
Scholarships are limited to those with significant financial need.
If you need a scholarship to attend, we encourage you to select the scholarship rate that best aligns with you and your financial circumstances.
For those facing financial hardship, including elders 65+ on fixed incomes, or those with serious or life-threatening illnesses.
For young adults (ages 18–26) experiencing financial need who wish to attend a program and deepen their practice.
Please note that registration fees do not include teacher dana. At the end of the retreat, there will be an invitation to offer dana to the teachers and to Spirit Rock.

James Baraz is a founding teacher of Spirit Rock. James started the Community Dharma Leader program and Spirit's Rock Family Program. James has led the online course "Awakening Joy" since 2003. He is a guiding teacher to One Earth Sangha, a platform devoted to Buddhist responses to Climate Change.

Debra Chamberlin-Taylor has been meditating since 1973 and has led retreats that combine spiritual and psychological growth since 1978. In addition to practicing vipassanā, she has been influenced by Dzogchen, Diamond Heart and devotional practices. She also leads workshops on embodiment of awareness and love in relationships and in our diverse world.

Booker is a heart-centered activist and meditation teacher focused on creating a culture of belonging. A co-author of Practicing Liberation, she was a 2020 Sojourner Truth Leadership Fellow, graduated from Spirit Rock’s Teacher Training, and was named one of Mindful's 12 Powerful Women. She's the Guiding Teacher of NY Insight.

A lifelong dancer and registered movement therapist, Evelyn has shared the joy of movement as a teacher for 40 plus years!
