Kodo Conlin

Kodo Conlin took up solitary sitting in 2006. His formal Zen training began in 2011, and he has since ordained as a Soto Zen priest in the warm-hearted lineage of Shunryu Suzuki. He trained for nearly two years at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center, and now lives at San Francisco Zen Center's City Center. Kodo feels equally a part of the Zen and Vipassana traditions. The practices of insight into the breath and body, and the teachings of early Buddhism have been foundational. Kodo first met Vipassana in Texas, living and training at Southwest Vipassana Meditation Center. Since moving west, Kodo has found homes of practice in California Vipassana Center, Insight Retreat Center and Spirit Rock. Kodo instructs practitioners of all ages in active mindfulness as well as seated meditation. Most recently, he gratefully served at the Spirit Rock Family Retreat and Abhayagiri Teen Weekend. He has the simple, modest intention to share the practice of Dharma, in gratitude for how it has transformed his world.
