Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo
Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo is one of the first westerners to be ordained as a nun in the Tibetan tradition. She is a brilliant teacher who is able to touch the hearts of many with her presence, her profound understanding of the Dharma, and its relevance and application in daily life. She is also a powerful voice for female Buddhist practitioners.
Jetsunma spent twelve years meditating in a cave in the Himalayas in the Lahaul region of North India, three of which were in solitary retreat. She founded the Dongyu Gatsal Nunnery in the Kangra Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India, at the behest of her teacher, His Eminence Khamtrul Rinpoche and with the blessings of His Holiness, The Dalai Lama.
