At the heart of practice is the union of wisdom and compassion, cultivated through mindfulness and a skillful response to life. Through developing the qualities of the heart and seeing clearly, we can transform deeply ingrained habits which limit our experience, and open hearts and minds to greater freedom.
During this daylong we come together as a community to support each other by keeping Noble Silence. The nuns will offer guided sitting and walking meditation, Dharma reflections, Chanting and opportunities for dialogue.
There will be a shared vegetarian meal. Since the beginning of Buddhism 2600 years ago, Buddhist monastics have depended on almsfood. They were, and still are, prohibited from growing their own food or storing their own provisions. You are invited to bring food to share with the nuns and each other. After the meal there will be an opportunity for qi gong practice with Isabelita Papa.

Online registration for our programs is available until 12 noon of the last business day prior to the day of the event (e.g. online registration for a Monday program ends at 12 noon on the prior Friday).
