Barbara Bogatin

Barbara Bogatin has been a member of the San Francisco Symphony since 1994. Prior to that she held principal cello positions with the Milwaukee and New Jersey Symphony Orchestras and was a substitute cellist with the New York Philharmonic for ten years. She has performed with Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, New York Chamber Soloists, Chamber Music Northwest, Connecticut Early Music Festival, Casals Festival, and the Lake Tahoe Summerfest. Barbara has co-led workshops on music practice and meditation at the Stanford Symposium on Music and the Brain, Telluride Compassion Festival, Esalen Institute, and the First South African Conference on Mindfulness. She received her early training at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Juilliard School.
