Christina Grof

Christina Grof, is an author, teacher, artist, founder of the Spiritual Emergence Network (SEN), and co-creator of Holotropic Breathwork. She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, where she studied with mythologist Joseph Campbell, and has received two honorary doctorates for her contributions to the field of transpersonal psychology. Since 1976, she has given workshops and lectures in North and South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. From 1976 until 1988, she was a resident teacher at The Esalen Institute, Big Sur, California, where she and her husband, Stanislav Grof, MD, coordinated and led a series of 28 experimental month-long educational programs, as well as numerous workshops. Christina is the author of The Thirst for Wholeness and the forthcoming memoir, The Eggshell Landing. Her other books, written with her husband Stan Grof, are Beyond Death; Spiritual Emergency; The Stormy Search for the Self; and Holotropic Breathwork: A New Approach to Self-Exploration and Therapy.
