Maura Singer-Williams

Maura is an integrative medicine educator at the Cancer Center at Alta Bates Medical Center and also has a private healing arts practice, New Green Sprout. She teaches Stress Relief, Qigong, Healing and Creativity, Art, Action Dreamgroup and Meaning Centered Spirituality Group. Maura is an interfaith chaplain and trains the chaplain residents at the hospital in mind/body healing techniques as well as how to use dreamwork and ritual at the bedside.

Maura coordinatesthe Commonweal program, Healing Circles East Bay with Shell Portner. Their main event is the 3-day Renewal retreat for younger women with cancer at Commonweal. This retreat is funded by Dancing Saved My Life, a program Maura co-founded which raises funds from dance, art and music events.

Maura is an artist who has worked in many mediums. Currently she is exploring breaking, fusing and slumping glass inspired by the Jewish shamanic principles of shevirat ha-kelim (the shattering of the vessels) and tikkun olam (repairing the world).
