Continuing Education (CE) Credit

*NEW* CE credit now offered at several residential retreats.  See Residential Retreats offering Continuing Education (CE) Credit for complete listing.

Many events at Spirit Rock offer the opportunity to earn Continuing Education (CE) credit.

Who can earn this credit depends on the certifying organization offering it: Spirit Rock offers CE credit through the Board of Behavioral Sciences, and with sponsorship from the Spiritual Competency Resource Center (SCRC) through the Board of Registered Nurses, and the American Psychological Association.  Most events offering CE credit are applicable to psychologists and persons holding a California MFT, LCSW, LEP, LPCC or Nursing degree, and may be applicable for other licenses or for licenses held in another state.  It is the responsibility of the participant to determine if their board will accept the credits offered by Spirit Rock.

The number of available CE credit units will vary, please see the event descriptions.

An administrative fee is charged for processing CE credit registration. Spirit Rock accepts online advance payment for CE credit and we strongly recommend that you register and pay for CE credit when you register for the event. It will save you time when you arrive for your day here.  There will be an additional $20 fee for certificates that need to be reissued.

Spirit Rock follows the guidelines set forth by the licensing bodies that authorize us to offer CE credit.

- We do not offer partial credit. You cannot arrive late or leave early and be given "partial credit" for the hours that you were here.

- In order to qualify for CE credit, you must arrive & sign in at the CE table within 15 minutes of the start of the event, and stay until the end of the event.

For non-residential events, checking in at registration does not get you signed in for CE credit. There is a separate table that you need go to and sign-in on the CE paperwork.  There is signage and if you do not see the table, or are not directed to it, please ask!

For residential events, you will need to sign-in at the beginning of the retreat, and initial your attendance at each required session.  Credit is awarded for instructional time only.  It does not include silent sitting or walking meditation, meals, yoga, breaks, or work periods.

In order to qualify for CE credit, you must pre-register and pay for CE credits, attend and sign-in at all instructional sessions, and submit your evaluation at the end of the retreat.  Failure to do so will disqualify you from receiving CE credit without the possibility of a refund.

Refund Policy:  If you are unable to attend an event, arrive on time, or need to leave early, thus preventing eligibility for CE credits, please call (415) 488–0164 x266 or send a fax to (415) 488-1026 or email SRMC[at]spiritrock.org to cancel and request a credit. If you call by 5 pm at least two business days preceding this event, we will credit your registration fee and/or CE fee towards another non-residential event. If you don’t contact us prior to this deadline, no credit will be issued. All credits must be used within one year of their date of issue. In order to use a credit, you must pre-register for the event by calling Spirit Rock at (415) 488-0164 x266. We are unable to process credits online.  Credits from day events are not transferable to residential retreats.
