Do you experience the painful negative effects of self-judgment? Do you judge yourself or others as never good enough, not quite right, always falling short of some high standard? If you would like to learn how to be more free from the torment of the inner critic, then this daylong is for you. Given how much pain self-judgment and judging others causes, it is essential we bring our mindfulness practice to understand and liberate this pattern. The day will involve a combination of talks, interactive exercises, and mindfulness and loving-kindness techniques. This will be a practical and experiential course taught with lightness, compassion and humor, and the need to not take ourselves too seriously!

- Deal effectively with self-judgment / and inner critic attacks
- Distinguish between judgment and discernment
- See the role of a healthy conscience versus reliance on the inner critic
- Develop greater self-acceptance, self-compassion and loving-kindness as an antidote to the self-judgment
- Cultivate forgiveness as a support for working with judgment
Learning Objectives for participating health care professionals-
Based on the content of this program, you will be able to:
Young Adults (18-26) and Seniors (65+ with limited income) are invited to attend this day for $45.
- Assess the workings of the inner critic / super ego;
- Discuss the practice of mindful awareness and how this relates to understanding the critic;
- Explain strategies for effectively countering the critic's attacks;
- Utilize the practices of loving-kindness and compassion that help counter the critics negative impact.

This course offers 6 CE credits for $60 for psychologists and California licensed MFTs, LCSWs, LEPs, LPCCs, and nurses. If you have a different license and are interested in CE credit, please check with your licensing Board to see if credits for programs from APA or BRN approved providers are accepted.
