Do you experience the painful negative effects of self-judgment? Do you judge yourself or others as never good enough, not quite right, always falling short of some high standard? If you would like to learn how to be more free from the torment of the inner critic, then this daylong is for you. Given how much pain self-judgment and judging others causes, it is essential we bring our mindfulness practice to understand and liberate this pattern. The day will involve a combination of talks, interactive exercises, and mindfulness and loving-kindness techniques. This will be a practical and experiential course taught with lightness, compassion and humor, and the need to not take ourselves too seriously!

On this daylong you will learn to mindfully:

  • Deal effectively with self-judgment / and inner critic attacks
  • Distinguish between judgment and discernment
  • See the role of a healthy conscience versus reliance on the inner critic
  • Develop greater self-acceptance, self-compassion and loving-kindness as an antidote to the self-judgment
  • Cultivate forgiveness as a support for working with judgment
Teachings are appropriate for the general public as well as health care professionals. Continuing Education (CE) credit available. See below for more information.
