A half-day retreat with alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation and sequential instructions in mindfulness practice. There will be direction in mindfulness of the breath, body, emotions, thoughts, and broader patterns of experience, both more personal and more universal. This half-day will be held mostly in silence with some short talks, and will generally focus on establishing more firmly a mindfulness practice, both on the cushion and in the flow of daily life.
Teachings are appropriate for individuals as well as health care professionals. Continuing Education credit available. See below for more information.
Learning Objectives for Mindfulness 101:
1. Participants will learn and practice the general approach of mindfulness that might be shared with clients.
2. Participants will learn and practice techniques of mindfulness of several different areas (the breath, body, thoughts, and emotions) and modes (sitting and walking).
Young Adults (18-26) and Seniors (65+ with limited and fixed income) are invited to attend this day for $25.
