Insight Meditation or vipassan practice is to see clearly the truth of our experience. In this day of silent retreat you will immerse yourself in the beautiful quality of mindfulness. When we cultivate this kind presence to our moment-to-moment experience, then clarity, joy, wisdom and compassion can arise in the heart. This capacity to pay attention in the present moment enables you to deeply know youself, each other, and the nature of reality.

There will be systematic instructions in both sitting and walking meditation, as well as time for discussion and Dharm talks. This daylong is especially good for beginning meditators and for those wanting a refresher in traditional instruction.

Teachings are appropriate for individuals as well as health care professionals. Continuing Education (CE) credit available. See below for more information.

This workshop is designed to help health care professionals:

  • Prepare ways to steady the mind and open the heart using Buddhist perspectives and practices.

  • Apply valuable perspectives from Buddhist teachings on happiness and causes of happiness; on suffering and the causes of suffering.

  • Utilize the powerful principles of equanimity and compassion for meeting the full range of human experience with balance and openness.

  • Demonstrate the techniques and applications of mindfulness practice.

Young Adults (18-26) and Seniors (65+ with limited and fixed income) are invited to attend this day for $25.
